Okay, whatever. I need a longer post to see what it looks like and I need to actually get some real content up. Right now, though I want to see what this looks like. And I swear, I started working on something to put up but I haven’t yet made this a priority. I need to do that. So, the grand ole master plan…. have a new blog post up every Sunday?
In other news, worked on plotting the next novel today. I think it’s very difficult to edit more than 3000 or so words per day because at that point my mind starts sliding off the words and not really editing well. I need to learn to switch gears better and I think in the long run working on more than one thing at once will make me more productive.
The difficulty that I have is, I always feel like the newest thing I’m working on is the best thing I’ve ever written and I start to not want to work on editing. But, if there is anything all the years of writing has taught me is that the real progress of becoming a better writer happens when I edit. When you start to see what you’ve done wrong and have to work to fix it then the next first draft, these things are in your head. The first draft is always going to suck but better first drafts, that’s a good goal. To get better first drafts we must learn to edit and look at all aspects of our previous work.
Or at least, I do.
It’s all progress. The important thing is– butt in chair. Get me some glue, and a flamethrower. We are going to burn this down.
